Communication Design
Music Cover Art
After analyzing existing music cover art and experimenting with two digital programs, students created their own music cover art which included a representation of themselves, a logo, and a back cover with at least 10 songs.
Storybook Design
Students chose a story, or wrote one themselves, and first created their own character designs. Afterwards, they incorporated their characters into at least three spreads and front and back covers that illustrated their story.
Pen-Tool Self Portraits
Using only the pen-tool, students built a self-portrait endeavoring to show something more about themselves than simple what they look like utilizing the element of art and principles of design.
Doodle for Google
After brainstorming, students created their own Doodle for Google design, incorporating the Google letters and connecting the 2021 theme "I am strong because..."
Mantra Tiles
Students chose or wrote a mantra that was personally meaningful. They then created a square tile using their knowledge of typography and the design principles of balance and harmony.
Animation
In groups of 3-4, students collaborated to create an animation. Students created the characters and story, and each member of the group was responsible for 30 seconds of animation.
